Traces of buried or abandoned sites are an inspiration for my work. I use the flea market as a resource, it serves as a space where the past is left behind. Shared with one and each other, allowing our stories to continue. The relationship between memory and history comes together. The choice of objects is based on intuition and the wonder of possible encounters in life before they crossed my path. The existing artefacts are deconstructed and deformed using goldsmithing techniques, causing them to deviate from their original form and purpose. It is a search into my understanding of what is lost or missing, to find a connection with an unrevealed heritage. The material undergoes different transformations while conserving the traces on its surface that was created by previous interactions of environment and physical touch. The idea of reusing and recontextualizing materials to enhance their wearability that restore a sense of belonging. I am moving towards a dialogue where the fragmented objects are reintegrated into our societal structure through the use of jewellery as a method.
